With the project development activity that has occurred since the SH 121 project received environmental clearance in June 2005, the dates on the Action Plan originally posted to the SH-121T project website have been superseded. The current status of the SH-121T project is as follows:
- The Citizens' Advisory Group (CAG) completed the Nature and Character Plan (the initial design guideline elements for the nature and character of SH-121 consistent with features and themes of the Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) adopted by the City Council in February 2003). The Nature and Character Plan provided meaningful input into the Corridor Master Plan, which was adopted by the City of Fort Worth, TxDOT and NTTA.
- The City of Fort Worth's SH-121T right-of-way acquisition team has acquired most of the right-of-way under its obligation, has relocated the majority of businesses, and is clearing the right-of-way. Relocation of City-owned utilities is underway.
- Final design for the five project segments is underway by NTTA, with construction anticipated to begin in 2008 on all five segments.
- The City is committed to working with its partners, TxDOT and NTTA, to accommodate the facility being open to traffic by late 2010.
